Audience: Residents and Fellows Learning Objectives: Identify and describe the normal location and diameter of the duodenum, jejunum and ileum Compare and contrast the wall thickness and enhancement of the duodenum, jejunum and ileum, as it related to fold thickness Summary: The duodenum has a C-loop configuration with a retroperitoneal 2nd and 3rd portion The jejunum has high mucosal fold density resulting in apparent thickening and hyperenhancement that should not be mistaken for abnormality Normal bowel is ≤ 3 cm in diameter The wall should mildly enhance with uniform circumferential thickness ≤ 3 mm when distended
