The Ministry of External Affairs has slammed the report of religious freedom released by the U.S. State Department. India called the report "deeply biased...visibly driven by vote bank considerations and a prescriptive outlook". MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal reminded the U.S. of racial attacks on Indians and vandalism at places of worship on its own soil. The report alleging violent attacks on minority groups in India and citing the violence in Manipur was released on June 26.
